I was on my second week of Hydroxycut when I realized what exactly these diet pills were all about. According to the bottle, I was supposed to graduate from a mere one pill twice a day to two pills twice a day. 30 minutes after I took my “graduated dose” I started feeling really light headed and my heart was pounding – 15 minutes later my entire chest felt like it was burning. I was terrified so I went to my parents. My father immediately took my pulse and blood pressure – both elevated to the point of concern. We called poison control before we headed to the emergency room. My parents were told that my symptoms were a “common occurrence” when taking Hydroxycut and that I should have never been sold such a dangerous drug. It was for ADULTS, and even then the drug causes similar problems that could cause long lasting damage. I was only in 9th grade – thankfully nothing more serious happened.
